Privacy: This page processes your census file entirely in your browser.
Census data never leaves your browser: nothing from your file is uploaded, stored, or transmitted. The only network calls are the SSPWest sign-in and visit log.

How to use the Census Cleaner
What it does
This tool cleans and standardizes a benefits enrollment census entirely in your browser. It standardizes names, dates, Social Security numbers, ZIP codes, phone numbers, and U.S. states; converts coverage tiers and other coded fields to the accepted values; rolls each family's coverage and employment details up onto the employee line and clears the dependent lines; and saves a clean spreadsheet. Your file is never uploaded, stored, or transmitted, and the page makes no internet requests.
Steps
Load the census file — choose your .xlsx, .xlsm, or .xls file.
Pick the sheet — select the worksheet that holds the census, then click Load sheet.
Confirm coverages — the tool checks the coverages it detects; tick or untick to match the group.
Group setup — set the number of dental/vision plans, whether any dental plan is DHMO, and the Basic Life benefit type. This controls which columns are needed.
Review the mapping — each field shows the matched column; adjust any dropdown. Once a column is chosen it disappears from the other dropdowns until you set that field back to blank.
Review & edit data — fix any cell inline and use Up/Dn to reorder rows; no need to re-upload.
Process and Download — the cleaned file downloads automatically as yourfile_processed.xlsx — the LMG tab is the upload, and the NCAM tab is the employees-only quoting sheet derived from it (same derivation as the LMG/NCAM Census Engine).
Good to know
List each employee first, followed by that employee's spouse or domestic partner and child(ren), then the next employee.
If a dependent appears before any employee, or a dependent's address does not match the employee above it, the tool stops and tells you which rows to fix so you can re-sort and run again.
Warnings (for example duplicate SSNs or out-of-range dates) appear in the Activity log; they do not stop the file.
The result has an LMG tab (the upload) with your selected coverages, an NCAM tab (employees-only quoting sheet), and an Other Columns tab with everything else.
